Heat across Europe is now hitting forty in a number of cities. An advisory was first issued in the Dutch when temps rose above seven-and-thirty, and officials have kept it in place through the weekend. In Amsterdam people are hanging curtains outside to keep the harsh sun out. The oppressive weather is pushing homes built for colder months.
Experts say more than 1300 extra deaths have been linked to the heat across areas. Overnight temperatures stay high, experts say. They urge folks to drink water, stay out of the sun at peak times and find shade.
