Anthony Mackie will move his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, marking a return to theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run set to run until July 2027.

The production began its run in the West End before the Broadway transfer was reported by Playbill and Deadline. The move is a notable step for a performer largely absent from the stage in recent years.

After his Broadway engagement ends, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, slotting the Marvel project in after his stage work wraps.
