The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the shortlist for the upcoming Daytime Emmy Awards. The Kelly Clarkson Show and The View earned the leading nods. Several drama series lead roles are on the shortlist. Top Actor and Leading Actress in a drama series spots are still open, as does Outstanding Lead Performance in Daytime Drama. Soap actors feature in drama categories. Talk show presenters with celebrity and discussion formats also compete. The ceremony date is as yet to be confirmed.
