Qantas has dispatched letters or emails to customers to about one million Australian customers.
The communication details a $105 million settlement for flights that were cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The airline reports the payout will be distributed to eligible passengers who were affected and will be completed over the next few weeks shortly.
On that day, Virgin Australia announced it still holds $93 million in unused flight credits yet to be used.
That total was disclosed as the airline’s chief executive received a salary increase in the latest review.
Virgin has not yet announce any plan to release the credits for now.
