South Korean golfer Ina Yoon opened the 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship with nine birdies. Her run put her five strokes ahead of that field on Saturday at Hazeltine. The burst came following Yoon returned from a suspension for cheating last season.
Several top players fell back early, exiting the tournament in that opening rounds. Yoon’s performance has prompted coaches to point to her as a model for amateurs. The tournament remains underway with other major contenders still in the mix. Play is set to continue Sunday with a final round scheduled for Monday.
