Toronto’s general manager John Chayka said the club is exploring a trade for Columbus defenseman Zach Werenski following the NHL Draft.
The Leafs have added a handful of prospects in the draft’s final round.
Chayka confirmed that clubs are reaching out Columbus to gauge Werenski’s availability.
Rumors also tie goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to the organization.
Chayka commented on the recent transfer of defenseman Brandon Carlo to St. Louis and observed that timing constraints demand rapid action, reminding that the team must act quickly on all decisions.
