The Minnesota Lynx topped the Golden State Valkyries twice in late August. Minnesota won 77-66 on Aug. 19. The teams met again Aug. 24 at Target Center. Minnesota retained the top seed. They remained unbeaten against Golden State yet. Courtney Williams sat out. Her right foot was hurt. Without Williams on the court, Minnesota failed to clinch the top seed in that game.
