Hamilton-born NHL prospect Matthew Mayich is being treated at an Arizona hospital after collapsing during an outdoor workout. Mayich is an Arizona State hockey player and a draft pick for the St. Louis Blues. He experienced the health scare while participating in a team practice session outside.

Arizona State is examining the incident of the player. Mayich is currently receiving care in hospital while university authorities review the circumstances leading up to the outdoor practice. The player continues to receive medical care in Arizona as the inquiry into the training incident remains ongoing.
