A 7.4 tremor hit Mexico’s Pacific coast shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday.
A broad tsunami alert was released for coastal strips through Mexico and Guatemala shortly thereafter.
The ground remained restless, shaking towns further north into Guatemala and El Salvador as well.
Just after 4 a.m., a 7.3 quake rattled the same area.
No information of injury or cracked buildings were received after the warnings.
