Preston North End has parted ways with first-team boss Paul Heckingbottom. The club made the decision public on Sunday. Preston is currently in the drop zone of the Championship after losing six of its first seven games this campaign. Heckingbottom was brought in at Preston last year. He was previously in charge of Sheffield United. The team will turn to a Premier League cult hero as interim manager. The decision comes after a rough opening to the season.
