The NFL is phasing out the annual Pro Bowl event after 75 years. The league is pulling the plug on the on-field contest, but star players will still be honored. Players will continue to be named as Pro Bowlers to earn their annual honors.
Player honors will stay in place despite the cancellation of the event. However, alternate players will no longer be selected by the league. The ruling concludes the 75 year history of the yearly event, but leading stars will still receive their official Pro Bowl accolades each season.
