Richard Harden appeared for Somerset from 1985 to 1998, plus for Yorkshire (1999-2000), having spells in New Zealand. He subsequently moved to the country, and runs a financial advisory firm. He is married to Rachel Reese, whom he helped campaign for Nelson mayor, and they wed in 2017; they have three children from previous relationships.
