Supreme Court rejects Roy Moore's push to restore $8.2M defamation verdict - AP News

Roy Moore Supreme Court Appeal Rejected Over Defamation Ruling

The US Supreme Court has declined to take up Roy Moore's appeal to restore an $8.2 million defamation verdict in his favour. The court declined the case on 5 October 2026, putting an end to Moore's effort to reinstate the jury's original ruling.

The dispute involves a campaign advertisement. Moore had maintained the verdict should stand in his favour, but the Supreme Court's rejection leaves the prior decision in place against him.
