Sony unveiled the new FX5 cinema camera on July 22, 2026. The camera delivers a groundbreaking full-frame sensor for filmmakers. It records 5K video with open-gate recording. Internal X-OCN RAW internal capture is now standard. Three base ISO options cover everything from bright daylight to dark sets. The FX5 can also shoot 4K at up to 240 fps when needed. Sony confirms the FX5 is easier to handle and includes open-gate support right away. Early reviews highlight its strong performance while noting more tools will arrive in later updates.
