Hundreds of mourners filled St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who died in a car crash while on duty. She was given posthumous honours at the service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective wept while testifying while giving evidence about the discovery of victims. The scene drew a reaction from those present. Separately, hundreds assembled at Bondi Beach for a vigil marking three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The crowd stood in solidarity as the occasion was observed across Sydney.
