The loss by Trump's pick extends a series of primary defeats. With the victory in America's reddest state, Barlow is one step closer to the governor's office after obtaining the GOP nod.
Voters voted in Tuesday primaries held across Florida, Wyoming, Alaska, and California. While Trump's pick for governor was beaten in Wyoming, Trump-backed Representative Harriet Hageman secured the Republican Senate primary in Wyoming.
