‘Stranger Things’ creators address bullying claims after Millie Bobby Brown allegations

Stranger Things Creators Respond to Bullying Allegations

Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of the hit series Stranger Things, addressed recent bullying and harassment claims involving cast members Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.

Statements at the Show’s Premiere

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet, Ross Duffer commented alongside his brother Matt:

“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal onset matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”

Director Shawn Levy’s Remarks on Set Environment

Shawn Levy, director and executive producer of the show, explained how the production handles bullying complaints to ensure a safe and respectful workplace:

“At the end of the day, that’s the job,” Levy said. “You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”

He also noted that many published stories about the situation are misleading or exaggerated:

“I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to… there’s so much noise around it.”

Summary

The creators and director emphasize their commitment to a supportive set, dismissing much of the reported bullying claims as exaggerated or inaccurate.
