Sanjeeva Reddy Thalla, a programmer from Telangana now working in the UK, shared a heartfelt video capturing his parents' first-ever flight. His parents, who lived most of their lives in a small Telangana village, experienced air travel for the first time.
The video opens with scenes of Sanjeeva’s parents sitting in their village fields, transitioning to joyful moments spent with Sanjeeva’s wife and child in the UK.
“It was their first ever flight. It was their first time crossing our state’s border. It was their first time sitting in an aircraft. It was their first time wearing shoes.”
In his caption, Sanjeeva recalls his modest childhood in Telangana:
“Few days ago, my parents took their first-ever flight. As they were landing in the UK, my mind went back to my school days in village in Telangana, India. I remember wearing trousers with patches on them. I remember carrying my books in a school bag made from a used fertiliser sack. For much of my life, we didn’t even have a proper house."
Sanjeeva emphasizes the moment is more than an achievement — it represents a new chapter and deep emotional connection to their shared journey.
Author’s summary: Sanjeeva’s video beautifully captures the profound joy and significance of his parents’ first flight, symbolizing hope and progress from humble beginnings.
