The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the arrest of Joseph Giancola, a Florida resident, by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents in Ft. Myers for posting death threats targeting ICE officers.
Giancola used the social media platform Bluesky under the alias “Cain Delon” to issue multiple violent threats against ICE personnel. These threats contribute to a significant rise in attacks and intimidation against federal officers.
“This cowardly individual made repeated disgusting death threats against ICE law enforcement officers. He is now in federal custody and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
ICE officers confront enormous dangers daily as they work to apprehend the most dangerous criminals including murderers, rapists, pedophiles, terrorists, and gang members.
“Our ICE law enforcement officers are now facing an 8,000% increase in death threats against them while they risk their lives every single day to remove the worst of the worst including murderers, rapists, pedophiles, terrorists, and gang members. From bounties placed on their heads for their murders, threats to their families, stalking, and doxxing online, our officers are experiencing an unprecedented level of violence and threats against them and their families.”
Authorities emphasize the seriousness of these offenses and reaffirm their commitment to prosecuting individuals who threaten or harm ICE officers to the fullest extent.
