Ex-NFL Star Antonio Brown Extradited from Dubai in Attempted Murder Case

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown has been extradited from Dubai to the United States and will be transferred to Miami to stand trial on an attempted murder charge.

The case relates to a shooting incident outside an amateur boxing event in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood on May 16. Authorities allege that Brown fired two shots at a man named Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu after an argument during the event.

According to the arrest warrant, Brown “grabbed a black firearm from the right hip area of a security officer and fired at a man.”

Brown, who played most of his 12-season career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, reportedly left Florida shortly after the shooting and was located months later in Dubai. Authorities stated he may have been attempting to evade U.S. law enforcement.

He was flown from Dubai through Newark, New Jersey, and booked into the Essex County Jail on Thursday, a U.S. spokesperson confirmed. Plans are underway to transport him to South Florida, though no specific transfer date has been released.

A video from the May event shared online showed Brown engaged in a physical fight at the venue, which was hosted by streamer and online personality Adin Ross.
