A Haunting Start — Will Byers Returns
The premiere picks up right where the nightmare from 1983 left off. Will Byers, then a frightened 12-year-old boy, appears within the eerie, mist-covered forest of the Upside Down — the same night he was taken by the Demogorgon. As he sleeps, he quietly sings a familiar tune before suddenly waking in terror.
Moments later, Will hears the growl of the Demogorgon closing in. He grabs a gun and fires, but his efforts are futile — panic sets in, and he begins to run.
Desperate to escape, Will climbs a tree as the monstrous creature chases him. His attempt to leap between branches fails; he plummets to the ground and faints. The Demogorgon drags his unconscious body through the shadows until they arrive at an ominous new setting — where Vecna makes his return, more menacing than ever.
