Elder Gérald Caussé Called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

Elder Gérald Caussé became the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called and ordained on Thursday, November 6, 2025, by President Dallin H. Oaks along with the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

At 62, Elder Caussé is originally from Bordeaux, France. At the time of his calling, he was serving his 11th year as the Church’s Presiding Bishop. He is notable for being the third Presiding Bishop born outside the United States and the first whose native language is not English.
