Miriam from the Bureau presents the national weather forecast for Saturday, November 8, and a brief outlook for Sunday.
Conditions across eastern Queensland will remain milder than usual, while inland regions experience cooler temperatures. The coastal areas should stay mostly settled, with light showers lingering along the northeast tropical coast. A low-pressure trough will bring showers and storms from the west, affecting the far northwest, central, and southern inland areas.
"Some severe storms are possible over the southern Darling Downs and the Granite Belt, with moderate rainfall forecast for the southern inland and far northwest."
Storms could approach the southeast coast late Saturday evening or overnight into Sunday. Brisbane can expect a few showers and a high of 31°C.
A cold front will move through central and eastern parts of the state, introducing strong southerly winds along with showers and thunderstorms across most eastern areas. Activity will be concentrated along the northeast and east central coast.
Weekend weather brings widespread thunderstorms and showers to Queensland and New South Wales, with cooler inland air and increasing winds from a passing cold front.
