Aryna Sabalenka: First superstar to sign up for 2026 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix

Aryna Sabalenka Confirmed for 2026 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix

Aryna Sabalenka, currently the world No. 1 tennis player, will compete at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 2026. She is the first top player to officially confirm her participation for the long-established Stuttgart tournament, which is scheduled to run from April 11 to April 19, 2026, at the Porsche Arena.

“The fact that a superstar like Aryna Sabalenka has signed up for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix at such an early stage is a big compliment for our tournament,” said Tournament Director Markus Günthardt. “I’m convinced other top players will soon follow and we’ll again be able to offer our audiences world class tennis in 2026.”

Sabalenka's Outstanding 2025 Season

Sabalenka capped her 2025 season by defending her US Open title in September, securing her fourth Grand Slam victory. Earlier in the year, she won prestigious WTA Masters tournaments in Miami and Madrid, along with the season opener in Brisbane.

She will finish the year as the top-ranked player worldwide. This achievement makes her the tenth player to lead the rankings for an entire calendar year and only the sixth to surpass 10,000 ranking points in a single season.

History at the Stuttgart Tournament

Despite her successes, Sabalenka has yet to win the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. She has reached the final four times but was defeated by Ashleigh Barty in 2021, Iga Swiatek in both 2022 and 2023, and Jelena Ostapenko in 2025.

The tournament is renowned for hosting a particularly strong field among all WTA 500 events on the global professional tour.

Summary

Aryna Sabalenka’s early confirmation for the 2026 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix highlights her status as a leading tennis star and promises intense competition at this prestigious tournament.
