Olivier Rousteing is stepping down from Balmain after fourteen years of reshaping the brand into a symbol of glamour and strength. The announcement was made on Instagram on November 5, 2025.
Joining Balmain in 2011 at just 25, Rousteing became the youngest creative director of a major Paris fashion house since Yves Saint Laurent at Dior. He was also the first Black designer to lead a historic French fashion house.
