English DJ and producer Sub Focus has joined forces with Canadian electro-pop singer Grimes to release a captivating new single, “Entwined.” Available now through Casablanca Records, the track is part of Sub Focus’ upcoming concept album CONTACT, set for release on November 21.
“Entwined” blends Grimes’ ethereal vocals with Sub Focus’s intricate production and deep basslines, exploring themes of science fiction, humanity, and the universe. The song takes listeners on a mesmerizing journey, enhanced by lush synths and enigmatic lyrics that evoke unknown galaxies.
The track’s experimental nature creates an intense and mysterious atmosphere, seemingly bending the boundaries of space and time. This fusion exemplifies the title “Entwined,” symbolizing the perfect collaboration between the two artists.
“I literally could not be more hyped on Sub Focus,” Grimes shared on social media during the summer. “Dance music has felt bizarrely sterile and increasingly so over time. It has been so long since I’ve felt euphoric about dance music.”
Sub Focus’ fourth studio album, CONTACT, features 14 dynamic, vocal-driven drum and bass tracks. The album includes collaborations with Subsonic, Poppy Baskomb, Connie Constance, Emily Makis, and Inez. It also contains the popular track “Go Back,” a collaboration with John Summit featuring Julia Church, which has totaled 151 million streams worldwide.
2025 has been a remarkably successful year for Sub Focus, highlighted by this exciting release and his growing recognition in the electronic music scene.
“Entwined” showcases an innovative collaboration where Sub Focus and Grimes invite listeners on an atmospheric voyage blending futuristic themes with lush electronic soundscapes.
