Peloton is recalling approximately 833,000 bikes because of a potential safety issue that may cause riders to fall and get injured, announced the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday.
The recall involves the seat post assembly on certain Peloton Original Series Bike+ models, which can break during use. This defect poses a fall and injury risk to consumers, according to Peloton, headquartered in New York City.
The Original Series Bike+, priced around $2,495, was sold from January 2020 through April 2025. It was available in Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide, on onepeloton.com, and through major online retailers including Amazon and eBay.
Users are advised to stop using the recalled bikes “immediately” and contact Peloton for a free seat post replacement, which can be installed by the user.
