West Coast’s seven-season wait to reach their AFLW dream ended in a November nightmare after a stunning 10-minute onslaught from Carlton, which decisively ended their season in the elimination final.
The Blues kicked four goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half and added six for the term overall, transforming an eight-point half-time lead into a commanding 45-point victory. Carlton’s superiority was evident as they won 9.6 (60) to 2.7 (19) in wet, windy, and wintry conditions at Ikon Park.
