The 28 Years Later soundtrack will be available on vinyl starting December 19, released by Milan Records. The album, composed by Young Fathers—known for their work on T2 Trainspotting—comes as a 2xLP pressed on translucent red vinyl. It is presented inside a gatefold jacket with printed sleeves.
Milan Records describes the soundtrack as an electrifying mix of original vocal tracks and instrumental score created by the Scottish progressive hip hop group Young Fathers.
This soundtrack accompanies the long-awaited third installment of the post-apocalyptic horror franchise 28 Years Later, reuniting director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland. The franchise began with 28 Days Later in 2002 and continued with 28 Weeks Later in 2007.
The story takes place almost three decades after the rage virus escaped from a biological weapons lab. Despite strict quarantine enforcement, some survivors manage to live among the infected. One such group resides on a small island linked to the mainland by a heavily guarded causeway.
“The Scottish progressive hip hop group bring an electrifying blend of original vocal tracks and instrumental score to the album,” Milan Records writes.
“Featured are fan-favorite tracks ‘Promised Land,’ ‘Causeway,’ and ‘Boots’ – the latter incorporating the words of Rudyard Kipling’s wartime poem, used to terrifying effect.”
Author's summary: The 28 Years Later soundtrack offers a vivid fusion of vocal and instrumental elements by Young Fathers, enhancing the film's tense post-apocalyptic narrative with memorable tracks on striking red vinyl.
