The Vancouver Canucks have decided to part ways with Russian winger Vitali Kravtsov. General manager Patrik Allvin announced on Tuesday that the club placed the 25-year-old on unconditional waivers with the intention of terminating his contract.
Kravtsov joined the Canucks' training camp in Penticton, British Columbia, before being assigned to their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks. While in Abbotsford, he recorded one goal and three assists in 10 games.
The Canucks had acquired Kravtsov from the New York Rangers in February 2023. However, he spent much of the following seasons playing for Traktor Chelyabinsk in the KHL.
“The team has placed the 25-year-old Russian winger on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination,” said general manager Patrik Allvin.
This report was originally published by The Canadian Press in November.
Kravtsov’s time with Vancouver ends after limited NHL action but strong KHL performance, as the team officially moves to terminate his contract.
