The Pittsburgh Steelers currently lead the AFC North, driven by a roster rich in veteran leadership and experience, particularly on defense. Among their standout players is edge rusher TJ Watt, a former Defensive Player of the Year with an impressive 113 career sacks. When Watt recognizes greatness, it carries weight.
Speaking to the Pittsburgh media after Friday’s practice, Watt commended his teammate Jalen Ramsey, whose decade-long career includes a Super Bowl title and a reputation as one of the league’s best defensive backs.
“A guy that's done everything in the National Football League you possibly can do and he's still so hungry,” Watt said of Ramsey. “A guy that's playing phenomenal football. He brings just a tenacious outlook on football and how he plays the game. That speaks to the culture — getting hats on the ball, playing with swag, all of the stuff that Jalen does.”
At 31 years old, Ramsey still performs at an elite level, embodying the competitive intensity and mentality that define the Steelers’ defense.
Watt’s praise reflects the mutual respect and high standards within Pittsburgh’s defense, where Ramsey’s hunger and passion continue to elevate the team’s performance.
