Free agent center Precious Achiuwa has agreed to a deal with the Sacramento Kings, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. Achiuwa, entering his sixth NBA season, was originally selected 20th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Draft.
The Kings are expected to waive second-year center Isaac Jones to create a roster spot for Achiuwa. Jones, 25, is in his second season with Sacramento, averaging 1.0 points and 0.7 rebounds in 5.7 minutes per game.
Achiuwa spent five NBA seasons with the Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, and New York Knicks, appearing in 320 regular-season games. He averaged 7.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in 20 minutes per game. Last season, he played 66 games (10 starts) for the Knicks, posting 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Before signing with Sacramento, several EuroLeague teams also showed interest in the 26-year-old Achiuwa, as reported by Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.
