The Sacramento Kings have officially signed forward/center Precious Achiuwa to a one-year minimum-salary deal and released Isaac Jones to open a roster spot, the team announced.
The Kings have faced depth issues in the frontcourt following Keegan Murray’s thumb injury. With their starting power forward sidelined, the team has relied on small-ball lineups and given more minutes to rookies Nique Clifford and Dylan Cardwell.
NBA insider Jake Fischer first reported that the Kings were targeting Achiuwa, while Brett Siegel of Clutch Points noted Isaac Jones would likely be waived if the move occurred.
Achiuwa, 26, began his NBA career with the Miami Heat before being traded to the Toronto Raptors as part of the Kyle Lowry sign-and-trade in 2021. He spent over two seasons in Toronto, was moved to the New York Knicks with OG Anunoby in December 2023, and later signed a non-guaranteed deal with the Heat this fall. He did not make Miami’s final roster due to salary cap and luxury tax considerations.
Precious Achiuwa joins the Kings on a short-term deal as Sacramento adjusts its frontcourt depth amid injuries and roster reshuffling.
