Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, stars of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," both competed on season 34 of "Dancing With the Stars," sparking rumors of tension between them.
When Jen and her partner Jan Ravnik were eliminated from the show, viewers noticed Whitney covering her mouth to hide a smile. Some fans saw this as a sign of disapproval, while others believed Whitney was just relieved to be safe on the show.
On October 28, during an Instagram live, Jen was asked which celebrities on "Dancing With the Stars" she was supporting. She said,
“Andy [Richter] and Robert [Irwin], honestly, I said this since day one. And I would be rooting for a former MomTok person, but we won’t be getting into that.”
This referred to a group of Utah-based influencers that both Jen and Whitney have been part of.
Whitney responded to Jen’s remarks in an interview with E! stating,
“I’m trying not to focus on that. Just trying to focus on all the people that are supporting us, because I’m so grateful for them. It motivates us, it keeps us going, so thank you.”
Whitney remains in the competition with her partner Mark Ballas.
Days later, Jen confirmed the rumored rift, telling E! News that she and Whitney currently have “no relationship.” She explained,
“Unfortunately, some things happened, so we’ve just taken a step back.”
This statement confirmed the distance between the two former friends and colleagues.
Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt’s friendship has cooled amid the pressure of "Dancing With the Stars," with Jen confirming they have taken a step back due to unresolved issues.
