Surrey honours veterans with Remembrance Day ceremonies citywide

Surrey Honours Veterans on Remembrance Day

On Tuesday, November 11, the City of Surrey will host several Remembrance Day ceremonies across the community to pay tribute to the service, courage, and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans.

“Remembrance Day is an opportunity for us to come together and reflect on the steadfast dedication of Canada’s veterans and those who continue to serve,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we enjoy and the communities we build. I encourage everyone to take a moment during Veterans Week and on Remembrance Day to reflect and express appreciation for the commitment and courage of our veterans and service members.”

The largest ceremony will take place at Veterans Square in Cloverdale, organized by the Royal Canadian Legion Cloverdale Branch. The event will also be livestreamed on the City of Surrey’s Facebook page for those who cannot attend in person.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking or use alternative transportation options like transit or biking.
