Two-time major champion Justin Thomas revealed he will miss the start of the 2026 PGA Tour season due to recovery from microdiscectomy surgery. The procedure, which addresses a herniated disc, has left Thomas unable to perform any physical activities during his rehabilitation.
Thomas explained that the surgery and healing process have greatly limited his mobility and daily functioning:
"The recovery has been tough. I can't do anything right now, which is frustrating. But I have to focus on getting better and coming back strong."
His absence will affect his schedule early next year, as he prioritizes full recovery to avoid further complications.
Microdiscectomy is a minimally invasive surgery to remove herniated disc material pressing on a nerve root or the spinal cord. Recovery typically requires rest and physical therapy over several weeks to months.
This update shows how carefully Thomas is managing his health to ensure a successful return to professional golf after a challenging surgery and recovery period.
