Toy Mountain adds new drop-off sites to meet rising demand

Toy Mountain Campaign Expansion

CTV News Winnipeg's Toy Mountain campaign for 2025 has expanded by adding new toy donation drop-off sites to meet increased demand. On November 29, donated toys were displayed at Access Storage in Winnipeg, a newly partnered location for the campaign. Representatives from Bounce 99.9 and 103.1 Virgin Radio broadcast live from Access Storage, marking their collaboration in the effort.

Increased Demand and Targeted Gifts

This year's campaign aims to assist approximately 8,500 children, which is 2,500 more than last year. The campaign solicits new, unwrapped toys for children aged zero to twelve, with a special focus on games and toys that encourage family interaction, such as puzzles and board games. The expansion to additional drop-off sites has been credited with contributing positively to the campaign's reach and success.

Drop-off Locations and Contributions

Donations can be dropped off at CF Polo Park on December 5 and 6. Other locations accepting toys regularly include all Scotiabank, IKEA, and Toys 'R' Us stores. A full list of drop-off points is available on CTV Winnipeg's Toy Mountain webpage. The campaign encourages community participation to ensure children in need can experience the joy of receiving gifts during the holiday season.

Community Involvement Highlights

Visitors like TJ Oakley, who came to donate toys, emphasize the importance of supporting children who cannot afford gifts, underscoring the campaign's critical role in spreading holiday cheer. The initiative reflects a strong community spirit and commitment to helping families in need during the festive period.

"It’s essential for all the kids who can’t afford toys to receive something," said TJ Oakley, highlighting the campaign's significance.

Author's summary: Toy Mountain 2025 broadens its impact with new drop-off sites and increased toy donations, targeting 8,500 children and focusing on gifts that foster family connection.
