Lionsgate has secured a multifaceted agreement with Millennium Films that grants rights to produce and develop all derivative works of The Expendables franchise, including future films and television productions. This deal also covers worldwide distribution rights for John Rambo, the forthcoming prequel to the Rambo film series.
Production and Creative Team
- Noah Centineo is in final negotiations to play the title character in John Rambo.
- Jalmari Helander, director of Sisu, is set to direct the prequel and is currently involved in pre-production.
- Production is scheduled to begin next year in Thailand.
- Lionsgate will initiate sales for the film at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM).
