Woman Lost Hair After Assault by Boyfriend
A woman suffered hair loss after being violently attacked by her boyfriend in Newport. Alex Slocombe, 27, physically assaulted his partner, delivering punches and kicks during the incident.

Defendant’s Mitigation and Sentence
- Slocombe, from Keir Hardie Terrace, Llanhilleth, was considered suitable for rehabilitation within the community, according to Anthony O'Connell, his defender.
- He was sentenced to 32 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months.

- Attendance at 26 sessions of an accredited programme
- A 90-day alcohol abstinence and monitoring order
