Football influencer denies having an affair with engaged LSU quarterback after ‘fake news’ article claiming so goes viral

Football Influencer Denies Affair Rumors with LSU Quarterback

Peighton Tubre, a Louisiana-based football influencer, publicly refuted internet rumors linking her to LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. The rumors arose after a “fake news” article on Facebook claimed they were seen entering a hotel room together.

“I’d like to address some of the fake news that has been circulating about me on the internet,” Peighton Tubre, 26, said in a video to her 200k Instagram followers.

She explained the article falsely stated that she was having an affair with Nussmeier the night before one of his games. Initially, Tubre ignored the post because it had little attention and was untrue.

“I was hoping it was going to go away and no one would see it,” she said. “Spoiler alert, everyone saw it. People are blowing up my phone, people are reaching out to my family members which is really weird.”

Rather than fading, the rumors intensified. Tubre addressed further false claims that Nussmeier sent unsolicited photos making her uncomfortable, asserting she never shared any such screenshots.

“So today, somebody sends me another article that they posted saying that Garrett sent me unsolicited photos that made me uncomfortable, and I posted the screenshots on social media, which, if you follow me, you know I didn’t post anything like that,” Tubre said. “It is just fake, it is all fake.”

Author's summary: Peighton Tubre firmly denies fabricated claims of an affair and inappropriate messages with LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, calling the rumors entirely false.
