Lando Norris emphasized that his approach remains the same heading into the final four races of the season, despite becoming the new championship leader after his victory in Mexico. The British driver aims to continue his strong form this weekend at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris arrives in Brazil leading the standings by just one point over his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, after a dominant win two weeks ago in Mexico City. Max Verstappen trails in third place, 36 points behind.
“We'll see at the end of the year. At the minute, nothing changes. I feel the same.”
Despite leading the championship for the first time since April, the 25-year-old stated during Thursday’s media day at Interlagos that the upcoming weekend feels no different from any other race.
“It's always nice to win. I wouldn't say I was lacking confidence before – I felt good in Austin and Singapore.”
Norris added that having Verstappen behind himself and Piastri in the title battle “doesn't change anything”, but he acknowledged that winning with such a margin has boosted his confidence heading into the final stretch of the season.
Norris stays calm and focused despite leading the championship, maintaining that his mindset remains unchanged as the title fight intensifies.
