The festive season begins tomorrow morning with the annual Christmas Pageant, marking one of the most anticipated events of the year. City drivers are advised to plan their travels in advance as several streets in the CBD will be temporarily closed.
Major roads will be shut down from the early morning until the afternoon, as more than 300,000 spectators are expected to gather along the parade route. A full list of closures can be found on the official Christmas Pageant website.
“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said Charles Mountain, RAA Senior Manager of Safety and Infrastructure.
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
Drivers are encouraged to consider public transport or alternative parking solutions to avoid delays and ensure a smooth and safe morning journey.
The city prepares for the festive season as the annual Christmas Pageant returns, drawing large crowds and prompting major traffic and parking adjustments across the CBD.
