A dozen pickup combinations and exquisite woods: PRS Guitars' 40th Anniversary Special Semi-Hollow

PRS Guitars has unveiled a limited edition 40th Anniversary Special Semi-Hollow, available in two striking finishes: Faded Whale Blue and Yellow Tiger. This model features a black limba body and neck with an artist-grade figured maple top that stands out for its beauty.

Premium design and craftsmanship

This anniversary edition replaces the traditional mahogany and figured maple with black limba and a top-grade figured maple, emphasizing aesthetic excellence. Notable details include the “pre-factory” eagle inlay on the headstock and a 40th anniversary engraving on the truss rod cover, replacing the standard “Special” Core lineup marking.

Limited availability and tone versatility

“This has been an incredible year of releasing special limited-edition guitars to celebrate our anniversary,” says Judy Schaefer, director of marketing at PRS Guitars. “The 40th Anniversary Special Semi-Hollow Limited Edition is the culmination of this year’s anniversary lineup.”

The guitar delivers a vast palette of core electric guitar tones right out of the box, giving players plenty of sonic options before even adjusting amp settings or effects pedals.
