India's all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy participated in training on Wednesday after missing the first three T20 Internationals against Australia. Bowling coach Morne Morkel shared an optimistic update on Reddy’s condition before the upcoming match.
The 21-year-old Reddy was sidelined due to a left quadriceps injury sustained during the second ODI in Adelaide. Subsequently, neck spasms slowed his recovery and restricted his movement. However, he completed the training session that included fielding, batting, and bowling drills.
“He did all the work expected of him today - fielding, batting and bowling - and he ticked all of that. So we will find out now after assessment where he’s at,” said Morkel.
The five-match T20I series is evenly poised at 1-1. The opening game was abandoned due to rain, India lost the second match but won the third with a thrilling five-wicket victory.
Nitish Kumar Reddy’s return to training signals a potential all-rounder boost for India as the tightly contested T20 series against Australia progresses.
