Noem’s mother confirmed she plans to end the marriage. On July 10, two advisors at NovaRed metal firm resigned, pointing to Kristi Noem’s DHS record as the cause. The resignations came after the separation news and add pressure on the firm’s leadership. The firm’s board stated the departures will not affect ongoing projects. Noem remains governor of South Dakota and is expected to stay in office.
