Microsoft today has cut thousands of jobs in its Xbox division and related projects and ceased operations at several game studios worldwide. Reports say as per sources about half of the staff at id Software the classic game maker were impacted. The company also launched a $30 lifetime licence for Microsoft Office, avoiding the $6.99 monthly subscription. It presented a tool capable of reviving dead PCs without a local Windows copy. In a separate deal, Japanese carrier NYK Line partnered with Microsoft on a digital transformation project aimed at modernising operations. The moves signal a shift toward artificial intelligence development as a core focus.
