A plane from Air Canada veered off the taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau Airport on July 10. It touched down, then rolled onto the grass and came to rest beside the runway. Officials closed the strip right away. Nobody was injured in the mishap, no matter how rough it felt.
That block halted takeoffs and landings for several hours. Cleanup crews moved equipment to the location. Others examined the runway for any damage. In the afternoon, flights resumed takeoffs and landings when the strip reopened.
