Edgar Wright is creating a more faithful adaptation of Stephen King’s novel The Running Man, reviving not only King’s story but also the art of the DVD commentary.
One particular scene stood out—not for its emotion, but for showcasing the physical strength of the cast. Glen Powell and Daniel Ezra appear in sleeveless shirts, displaying their arms, followed by Lee Pace also sleeveless. This moment became a “holy arms” highlight while watching the film, something Wright noticed as well.
“It’s funny, we did the commentary for the film the other day and it was actually Glen’s first DVD commentary,” Wright shared. “And I said something to him, which I didn’t say on set, there’s a scene with him and Daniel Ezra who plays Bradley. I said, ‘You guys were really having a gun off this day.’ Glen said, ‘Oh yeah, it was the gun show’ because Daniel is in incredible shape.”
Wright’s commentary reveals behind-the-scenes details and enthusiasm for the film’s release, adding an extra layer of connection for viewers.
