The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 will begin on November 7, featuring 12 teams in a fast-paced, six-a-side format. India will be led by Dinesh Karthik, while Ravichandran Ashwin will miss out due to injury.
First launched in the 1990s, the Hong Kong Sixes was created to allow local fans to watch top international cricketers despite Hong Kong’s status as an ICC Associate Member. Over the years, it evolved into an annual global event with player participation approved by various cricket boards.
The tournament ran from 1993 to 1997, returned between 2001 and 2012, made a brief comeback in 2017, and was relaunched in 2024.
All games in the 2025 edition will take place at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. Teams will compete in a single round-robin group stage, where the top two from each pool advance to the quarterfinals.
The knockout phase consists of single-elimination matches. Teams that don’t reach the main draw will participate in bowl and plate fixtures to determine their final rankings.
Fans can watch the tournament live on Sony Sports Network and stream it online through SonyLiv.
