UEFA reject Crystal Palace request as Arsenal fixture fiasco takes fresh twist

UEFA Reject Crystal Palace's Request Amid Arsenal Fixture Issues

The Carabao Cup quarter-final between Arsenal and Crystal Palace is now set for December 23, just two days after Arsenal and Palace face Everton and Leeds respectively in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace faces a setback in rescheduling this important cup match, originally planned for December 16, now postponed to December 23.

Both managers, Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace and Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, have expressed strong opposition to the new EFL proposal. The rearranged Carabao Cup tie is only two days after their Premier League away games on December 21.

Requests to Advance Premier League Matches

Palace and Arsenal have officially asked the Premier League board to move their Premier League fixtures from December 21 to Saturday, December 20. This change would offer players an extra day to rest.

UEFA Denies Crystal Palace's Conference League Rescheduling

Meanwhile, Mirror Football revealed that UEFA refused Crystal Palace's request to bring forward their last Conference League group match against KuPS, scheduled for December 18, to December 17.

UEFA insists that all 18 final group phase Conference League games must start simultaneously on the same date, at 8 pm.

These scheduling conflicts highlight the challenge clubs face balancing multiple competitions during a congested fixture period.
